What are AiTHOR apps and who are they for?
AiTHOR builds Shopify apps that help merchants improve their workflows, stay compliant with platform rules, and understand their store data better. Our tools are designed for Shopify store owners and teams who want simple, focused apps that are easy to install and use.
How do I install an AiTHOR app on my Shopify store?
You can install any AiTHOR app directly from the Shopify App Store. Click the Add app button, log in to your Shopify admin (if needed), and follow the prompts to approve the requested permissions. Once installed, you'll find the app in your Shopify admin under Apps.
What permissions do your apps usually need?
Each app requests only the scopes it needs to function. For example, a compliance or analysis app may require read_products to scan product titles and descriptions. You'll always see the requested permissions on the install screen, and you remain in control of what you approve.
Do AiTHOR apps change anything in my store automatically?
Most AiTHOR apps are designed to analyse and report rather than make automatic changes. Where an app can make changes (for example, updating product text), this will be clearly shown in the app and will typically require you to confirm or click to apply changes. You stay in control.
How is my data used and stored?
We only use your data to provide and improve the specific app you have installed. This may include reading products or other store data that Shopify shares with us based on the permissions you approve. How do I get support if I have a problem?
You can contact us anytime via the Support page on this website or from inside the embedded app (where available). Tell us what you're seeing, and if possible include your store URL and a screenshot. We aim to respond as quickly as we can during business hours.
What happens if I uninstall an AiTHOR app?
When you uninstall an AiTHOR app from your Shopify admin, the app immediately stops accessing your store data. Shopify sends us an app/uninstalled webhook so we can revoke active sessions and clean up related data. If you want us to remove additional historical records, you can email support@aithorapp.co.uk.
Do you offer free plans or trials?
Many AiTHOR apps offer a free plan or free trial so you can test the value before committing. Pricing and billing details are shown on the Shopify App Store listing for each app. All billing is handled through Shopify's secure billing system.
Are AiTHOR apps legal or compliance advice?
No. Our compliance-focused apps highlight common issues and patterns, but they do not replace legal advice or platform-specific guidance. You remain responsible for ensuring your store, content, and advertising comply with local laws and platform policies (for example Google Ads, Meta Ads, or others).
